The Federal Trade Commission’s waiting period (under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act) regarding a deal between Energizer Holdings and Spectrum Brand has been cleared allowing Energizer to acquire Spectrum Brands’ auto care business, which includes the iconic Armor All line of automobile waxes, polishes and cleaning products.

The deal with Energizer Holdings for the global auto care business was reported by Spectrum Brands as being $938 million in cash and $312 million in equity.
